Who: Chrome
When: T-10 seconds to emotional whiplash
What: Worlds crumble and she ends up...not home. Again.

It happened between one breath and the next. She'd been in the eternal Autumn of her old new-world performing a leap during spear practise, and come down on concrete hard enough to make her stumble and bash her knee. That wasn't what had her sit on the ground and cry, however. She wept because reaching for healing magic failed but her power boiled up at her touch. Her power took the place of the Elo to keep her alive, her power allowed her to cover her scars, her power. Illusion at her fingertips and joy in her heart...yet Mukuro was still not here. Her mind was still bleeding out for him, and that mitigated her joy and made her sorrow.

So she wept, both in joy and in sorrow, while playing illusions around herself on the ground.

"I was insane," she admitted wryly, settling with a soft hum of wires beside the girl, "but I was told everything would be alright." And it was. It made sense if you knew her family.

"Well, I'm recently out of a hospital bed a mafia assassin. Nice, ever play the game 'what would you do if the world ended?" Because it seemed apropos in this empty city?

"That's okay. Some of my best friends were insane for pretty much their whole lives." then she laughed a little bit, "Would you believe this is the second post-apocalyptic seeming city I've been in? The other one had more ruins and people flying around on hard flames, though. ...My answer there was 'spend a lot of time dying when not trying to kill people'. I like that I'm not dying. You?"

"Then this is better company than expected," she chuckled, resting arms covered in white lacquer on her knees. "And not dying is a plus. My answer was usually simpler, but in this instance I might say my goal is to salvage some cotton batting. And then make sure there aren't any monsters. Those tend to be a pain."

"Cotton batting? For what?" she asked, curiously, "Monsters aren't that much of a problem, though. Not for me, anyway. If you want to stick together for now we can do that." Just to be certain she called (and dismissed) her spear. Yes. She'd be fine.

"...my strings are cold," she admitted a touch sheepishly. "Nothing else is really a problem but my strings just...it's odd. I think I can wrap them." Maybe? She hadn't really had time to think about that before!

"No, monsters aren't a problem, really, except I don't want to take out any buildings. It's nice to be near someone who doesn't want to shake me silly though. So please, yes, if you don't mind."

"Oh." she smiled, "How about a coat?" setting illusion to word, she caused a warm coat to surround the older woman. "It's illusion, but it should work for now."

"...it gets caught..." she laughed. "Even the toga pinches a bit. I've been in a hospital gown mostly, and on machines, so it wasn't anything to worry about then, but thank you. We should probably still move, see what we can."

"Hmmm." she let the coat illusion go, and instead tapped her lower lip while standing up, "Well, the next easiest thing..." a sphere of mist rose around the two of them, warmth rising with it until it was comfortable for a girl in a mini-skirt. The shifting purple was never quite where one or the other was looking, being there mostly to give Vanya an excuse for the warmth.

She rose as well in a hum of music and smiled at the mist, "you're very kind," she admitted. "Thank you. I'm used to powers, you don't have to waste visuals on me. My brother always worked extra to make what he saw or did visible." And it made Klaus something of a powerhouse, but nowhere near sane.

"Preferred direction?"

"It's easier to hold an illusion like this if there's a visual component." Chrome said, with a shrug, "I mean, because it is illusion."

"Ah," she chuckled softly. "I see. Illusion isn't a power I know, sorry, you're a bit of a powerhouse though, with physical components." And the warmth was appreciated, and the coat had been real enough to be uncomfortable!

And, well, since Chrome hadn't picked a direction she headed to the left, down the street. One direction was as good as another after all.

"Mmm. Yes." she agreed, simply, "I am. I'm almost illusory myself. I have a heart, damaged, and lungs, worse damaged, but all the rest of my organs are illusion. It's wonderful to be keeping myself alive instead of depending on something else."

"Much better," she agreed. "Fixable maybe? If you know a regener? But still better yourself than anything outside. Outside things fail," she chuckled softly.

"Where were you before here?"

"A tiny, cube-shaped world." she said, knowing full well how it sounded, "The whole world was smaller than the city I was born in. I was born in Tokyo." Just in case the other woman was from an earth.

"That's disconcerting," she admitted. "Are you also a world walker?" Just to check? She didn't think she'd developed a new power on top of the power that had been suppressed finally coming out?

But then again her world was weird.

"Nope. I got...tossed or thrown or...taken away from my world. I landed on Penrose. Now I'm here. You?"

"Not jarring enough to have been tossed or thrown," she admitted, "likely taken. I was in the family graveyard, then I was here. Either way this is the first day I"ve been up and about since I was shot in the head."

"...I wish my friend Khemrys was here." she said with a small sigh, "She could be sure you're okay. She's a healer. Sometimes, though, she's a snow leopard! She's gorgeous." it was said with the wistful sigh of a physically damaged teenage girl, "In both forms."

"I'm alright, when my sister says these things the tend to happen. She made her hair naturally purple by accident," she chuckled. "There are those who are in my world? And yours is pretty, but she wasn't born that way." Even genetics bowed to The Rumor, that was kind of funny honestly.

Sometimes a snow leopard was interesting though. "We didn't have many shifters. Maybe she's here as well, if this place took those without much attachment to a world."

"I was." she said, reaching up to touch her hair, "My...partner, I guess. Leader? Mukuro-sama has blue hair. I never met a shifter before Khemrys."

"Brighter colors are rare but not unheard of as natural in my world," she mused softly. "But the only shifters I really knew was my brother and a few people they fought."

"Khemrys is a pacifist." it was the easy way of explaining her friend's inability to fight back. "As far as I know she's only deliberately hurt one person and she still feels awful about it."

"And I'm not my siblings," she admitted easily. "Snow leopard sounds lovely. I hope she's safe." Because this girl seemed nice so a friend of Chrome was worth well wishing hopefully?

"What are your siblings like?" Chrome wondered, continuing to sort of drift along.

"...complicated," she laughed, "very complicated. We were all adopted by a space alien to form a super team. Or they were. It made us all rather messed up. Some of them are working toward better, but it's slow going."
