Who: Chrome
When: T-10 seconds to emotional whiplash
What: Worlds crumble and she ends up...not home. Again.

It happened between one breath and the next. She'd been in the eternal Autumn of her old new-world performing a leap during spear practise, and come down on concrete hard enough to make her stumble and bash her knee. That wasn't what had her sit on the ground and cry, however. She wept because reaching for healing magic failed but her power boiled up at her touch. Her power took the place of the Elo to keep her alive, her power allowed her to cover her scars, her power. Illusion at her fingertips and joy in her heart...yet Mukuro was still not here. Her mind was still bleeding out for him, and that mitigated her joy and made her sorrow.

So she wept, both in joy and in sorrow, while playing illusions around herself on the ground.

"Apparently as the new First Violin I get free membership and guest privileges," she noted when she finally came in to the locker room. "I also have a gym bag here full of free swag. There should be clothes."

"Oh, good." Chrome called from the shower where she was trying to get the smell of viscera off of herself, "That would be nice. Is there a washer that my uniform can go in?"

"OFFICER DOKURO'S UNIFORM PREFERENCE IS SET. WE APPRECIATE YOUR SERVICE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT."

"What?!" the sound of horror from an assassin drafted into the police.

"What?!" Um. "Going spear first into a giant eyeball is NOT proper police procedure!" Vanya yelped at the ceiling. It just..wasn't. "No offense."

Cool and messy, yes. Police? Um. Not so much.

"And yeah, think so, we'll search the back end stuff when you're clean and out?"

Chrome's inability to process the situation lasted until she was out of the shower and wrapped in huge, soft towels. "P-pu-pu-puh..." she informed Vanya, her eye wide and staring. (Her other one was covered in illusion.)

"Police," she agreed wryly. "Apparently you made an impression. " With her boots and spear to a T-rex eye but hey, she'd seen worse resumes!

"Think you can't handle it?"

"I'm an assassin," she hiss-whispered, "I kill for money. What do I know about laws?"

"More than a crazy city who assigns jobs based on the first skill you show off!" she noted. "Also killing for money on the edicts of a city state in some countries is legal. Just so you know." JUST SAYING.
