Who: Chrome
When: T-10 seconds to emotional whiplash
What: Worlds crumble and she ends up...not home. Again.

It happened between one breath and the next. She'd been in the eternal Autumn of her old new-world performing a leap during spear practise, and come down on concrete hard enough to make her stumble and bash her knee. That wasn't what had her sit on the ground and cry, however. She wept because reaching for healing magic failed but her power boiled up at her touch. Her power took the place of the Elo to keep her alive, her power allowed her to cover her scars, her power. Illusion at her fingertips and joy in her heart...yet Mukuro was still not here. Her mind was still bleeding out for him, and that mitigated her joy and made her sorrow.

So she wept, both in joy and in sorrow, while playing illusions around herself on the ground.

"It doesn't look segmented." Chrome said, standing up and frowning, "Mist is just mist. Don't worry about it, okay Vanya-san? There are more tangible things to worry about. Like..."

Like a fucking T-rex. Of course it was a T-rex. Could it be any more cliche? She stared at it for a moment less in awe and more in extreme annoyance. "at least I know how to use my flames to fly." was the incredibly bitchy mumble.

"And at least it's tall enough I can aim high or low and miss you entirely if necessary," she mused, tilting her head to look the large lizard over. "Though you've got illusion powers, want to get it to chase something edible until we find a nice bridge to drop on it?" Seemed a bit more energy efficient really?

"Granted, it did just eat...but I read they're motion sensitive and might just cahse movement in general."

"Lets give it a shot." she said, twisting illusion until she and Vanya were invisible and in audible before tossing out the illusion of a large, lumbering lizard-thing. "Does this look tasty?" she wondered, "How does the dinosaur look?"

"...I'd...go with something you know better? Give it a cow, I don't think it'll care if it's suppose to be prey it knows as long as it moves."

"I've never seen a cow in real life either." she muttered, but the dinosaur morphed into a cow that toddled off in the direction they'd decided to take the T-rex, "Let me know if I need to do something else."

"Yeah, but photos are accurate, where T-rex imagery is hypothesis," she countered almost distractedly as she watched the dinosaur tilt it's head before roaring at the retreating cow and heading in that direction.

Wow. She had to put a hand on her strings to still the buzzing from that sound. "Granted a real cow probably would have just had a heart attack."

"True." she allowed, "Lets go!" it was fun to watch this thing wander off after her illusion. "Hopefully it doesn't decide to wander off before we find a good place to kill it."

"Run little cow runnnn!" she laughed, picking up the pace to follow the dinosaur. "Hopefully! It seems really intent on chasing at least?"

Chrome trotted along beside Vanya, "Well, predators like to kill and eat things. So there's that." the cow mooed in alarm and started running. "This is, like, the marathon runner of cows."

"Super cow," she agreed. "Any cow we meet in real life will pale in comparison, poor things." Though the likelihood of meeting a real cow in a city was...

...wait there was a T-rex in the city. Anything was possible. "A shrink ray would be awesome because a house rex would be kind of amazing."

"Sorry. I can't make something that will make permanent changes and I'm not going to put that much of my power into making a tiny dinosaur."

Even as she said that, however, a collection of knee-high dinosaurs ran past following the rex and the cow.

"...I can trap one of those for you if you want..."

"Didn't expect you to," she admitted, "just if we stumble on one somehow...oh." Hey. Mini dinosaurs.

They were kind of like carnivorous, brightly colored geese the way they moved. Wow. "So, after the T-rex is taken care of?"

"Now works." she just made a cage around one of the squealing little things and hung it from a lamp-post. "Just remember where I left it, okay?"

Then she had to trot a bit faster since her cow was running faster than she could thanks to the size of the T-Rex's footprints.

"Or now," she chuckled, looking at the poor confused thing as it dangled in the sudden cage. "And will do." Hmmm, speed was going to be a problem wasn't it?

Just a bit. "Hang on! Bike!" She darted off to the side to snag the set of wheels she'd spotted in a rack.

"Oh, ah..." she looked at the bike for a moment, "How are we both going to ride it?"

"Hop on the handle bars!" she noted easily. "I'll get us after the thing, you just concentrate on making it not eat us!"

"Ah?" she didn't hop so much as she climbed, awkwardly, to balance as carefully as possible. Then create a seatbelt of sorts.

"...okay you've never done this before. Sorry, it can be a little weird if you didn't grow up doing it, should have thought of that..." not that she was delaying as she babbled at herself in annoyance. No, she kicked them off the moment Chrome was 'settled', and hey, she had far better wind as a violin girl it seemed!

"Mostly I walked places." Chrome offered, "I'll learn!" she gripped tightly to the handlebars and did her best to keep from falling off while also making the cow look (what she assumed was) tasty and edible.

"Nothing wrong with that. I only did bikes really because Pogo taught me to ride and it was cheaper than bus fare a lot of places later." Ah, she missed Pogo. Maybe some day the sudden pang would lessen but for now, well...

...she was glad she felt it.

And now they were chasing a T-rex that was chasing a fake cow. Seemed about the proper level of weird honestly. "No sign of a bridge yet..."

"Ah, it's down another few blocks and to the left." she said, white knuckled. This was very disconcerting. VERY.

Yeah, this would be a bad time to mention she couldn't really see much around the girl on the handlebars right? Best leave that unsaid! "Okay, awesome, you tell me when to turn!"

"In about two meters take a left." she said firmly, "Ah, you know metric right? I'm not comfortable with feet and stuff."

"We were raised metric," she noted easily, hanging the left as instructed. "This is starting to look more like it!" Proper 'drop something on a dinosaur' territory. It was probably an artsy quarter of the city given all the balconies and winding bridge spans!

"Oh, good." she said, "Okay...look for something that looks useful to you. I'm going to make more cows." a whole herd of milling cows, wandering around being...cows.
