Who: Chrome
When: T-10 seconds to emotional whiplash
What: Worlds crumble and she ends up...not home. Again.

It happened between one breath and the next. She'd been in the eternal Autumn of her old new-world performing a leap during spear practise, and come down on concrete hard enough to make her stumble and bash her knee. That wasn't what had her sit on the ground and cry, however. She wept because reaching for healing magic failed but her power boiled up at her touch. Her power took the place of the Elo to keep her alive, her power allowed her to cover her scars, her power. Illusion at her fingertips and joy in her heart...yet Mukuro was still not here. Her mind was still bleeding out for him, and that mitigated her joy and made her sorrow.

So she wept, both in joy and in sorrow, while playing illusions around herself on the ground.

Watching the vines come up was amazing. There was no Penrosian magic that could do similar. Her illusions were so realistic, too, right down to scent, which he couldn't get through Penrosian magic.

He focused and felt his clothing change with a golden-green flicker of magic. His Asgardian armor replaced his prior clothing. "My magic is working as expected again," he said. There was a hint of some emotion there that was beyond just the statement of fact, relief, maybe?

no excuse for being this late... sorry

"It feels like it," he said after a moment of thought. He took off his helmet and vanished it with a wave of his hands, no need for the full formal armor among friends. Yes, waving his hands managed to cause objects to disappear and reappear. As an after thought he summoned a book that he knew was stashed in his magic-non-existant-sleeve-pockets (aka hammerspace). Another wave vanished the book again. Yes, his powers were back, maybe a little dulled, but not to an excessive extent.

Well, I'll try not to be that bad

"I had hoped that the hospital was the only abandoned facility," he said. Even though the hospital was well stocked and in good condition. "I have not had long to look around."

However, no one walked about and there were no one peaking from behind curtains. No feeling of eyes on him.

"A dinosaur?" he asked. He was more intrigued by that then little Chrome being the local law enforcement. Maybe the fact he showed up in the hospital indicated this world wanted him to do something for the hospital. Or maybe he only showed up there because he could be useful to Khemrys in setting up a clinic for short term use.

Perhaps, he would be the "handy-man."

"Quite a beast to slay," he said.

"I only just arrived," he said. "I found myself in a utility closet at the hospital and helped Khemrys set up a clinic that she can self-manage without running around all the floors."

He paused, "With how abandoned everything is, there must be plenty of empty housing. What are you looking for in a residence?"

"Furnishings should not be a problem, even if the perfect place is empty," Loki said. He could bring furniture from any other location, there didn't seem to be any one around who would argue with that.

Penrose had had locals, people who had run the government and stores. This place was completely empty, but showed evidence of having once having people. Perhaps they would show up if someone was stealing their stuff.

"Shall we look together?" he asked.

She trusted him? This was a very bizarre situation for Loki. He was the god of lies. His lack of trustworthiness was a thing of legend and constantly drilled into his head.

So, he's quiet for a moment, staring at Chrome like she had grown a second head with a little awe. It was an unusual expression for him.

Finally he snapped himself out of it. "I do not know," he said. He had never looked for a home before. Loki was getting way too many firsts.

He thought about the particulars of a residence, "I suppose, if I were to think about it, I would like a place with books and bookshelves for them. A bed would be necessary."

Perhaps he should see if there was a library and move a bed into it. Or he could move the library to wherever he choose to live.

"I should be able to read them," he said. And if not, it would be a challenge. But she gave him an idea. "Write a book?" What would he write about, the only writing he had ever done was his personal journal.

He was quite for a moment thinking about it. He did not want to write biographies of Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three. If he were to write it would need to be... fiction. He had not been one to read stories of pure imagination, but his would not be. He would draw upon his experiences to write stories of new characters. He was a little excited about the prospect, using his skill with words and lies in another way.

"Then I shall try to write a book," he said, finally.

If he was not who he was he would have blushed at the praise. Instead he hoped to live up to it. He never shared any of his writings before, save when required by his many teachers growing up and sometimes with his mother who never really needed to see them.

"Do you wish to continue training your abilities while we are here?" he asked. Of course, he was going to have to exercise, even if this world seemed rather barren of life (though apparently had dinosaurs) Loki was not going to let his abilities waste away.

He smiled slightly, remembering the nightmare of hers that he had ended up in and more specifically, what her illusions could do.

"Perhaps you can teach me as well," he said. A good teacher often learned from their students, too.
