I've had enough of different worlds

When: Right after arrival
What: Rudely interrupted from trying to finish a mission




One minute, Sheena had been running across a grassy field, on her way to Meltokio to meet up with Zelos and exchange information-

And next she was in a strange city she had never seen before. Considering she had gone from flying cities to ones in the middle of the Ymir Forest, saying this place was strange was saying something.

Drawing out her spell cards, Sheena looked around, eyes narrowing. Her senses were high and her brown eyes narrowed. There was something...strange in the air. Something was off and she couldn't place it but it worried her.

But she was strong; she had been through more than her fair share of weird things and whether it be an angel hell bent on destroying all living beings, or demons from the underworld, Sheena was ready.

A noise sounded behind her and she turned quick as a flash, her ninja senses taking focus.

"Come out, whoever is there!"

"I'm not trying to hide." Roy said mildly, walking with Merlin guiding him. "Were you expecting someone specific?"

Sheena pursed her lips, body tense and spell cards still at her fingers.

"I don't know what the hell to expect. One minute I'm somewhere completely different, and the next I'm here. So I'm not to blame if I'm a little jumpy."

"Oh, no. I don't blame you at all. Trust me, I get finding yourself somewhere much different from where you expect to be. It's a damn annoying situation. Before you ask, I have no idea where we are, who brought us here, why we're here, or how to get home." He offered his hand in the general direction of her voice, "Roy Mustang, ex-Colonel of my home country and currently a teacher."

Sheena stared at the man's hand for a moment before biting her lip and storing her spell cards away.

She took his hand and shook it before sighing.

"Well this is great. I don't get why this sort of thing always seems to happen to me."

She released the man's hand before folding her arms.

"I'm Sheena, ninja of Mizuho and citizen of Tethe'alla."

"This is the second time it's happened to me. The strange new world part, anyway." he reached down and patted his dog on the head, then gave her the signal to lay down for a bit. "Never heard of...honestly, any of that. What's a ninja?"

Sheens looked at the man, Roy, and cocked her head.

"Do they not have them in...well, wherever you came from? They're like assassins, spies, working to gain information. Basically we operate in the shadows and perform whatever job we've been assigned."

She looked down at the dog, wondering why it was there. But the companion made her miss Corrine as she always would.

"This is the second time this has happened to me too. Well, third if you count the Ginnungagap and Niflheim."

Dark eyes stared sightlessly in front of him, and his face was slightly off from where hers was; a common thing amongst the blind.

"Not by that name, no. Assassins and spies I know." his smile was wry, "For a while it seemed like everyone I met worked in the shadows, but then again it turned out all the conspiracy theorists were wrong...but only in scope."

Sheena pursed her lips gently at the man's off vision. Was he...blind? She dare not ask and put her foot in her mouth.

"I don't get what you mean but at least you understand. Do you suppose we should get somewhere else?"

"Don't worry about it." Roy said with a sigh that wasn't directed at her at all, "Lets just say that the world was damn confusing. Hungry? I was following the city's directions to a restaurant of some kind. I'm a horrible cook, what with not having known much about it before I was blind. Learning to cook blind..." he grimaced, "The best I can say is edible."

Sheena nodded to herself, a little sad at the man's disability but happy to help him if he needed it.

"I'm starving actually. Ah...did you know where to go? Do you need help getting there?"

"That's what my best girl is for." he said, giving Merlin the command to stand up again. He patted the dog's side, smiling broadly. "She keeps me from tripping, running into something or someone, and generally helps me get around. I guess I could let the city give me directions and guidance, but Merlin is much more reliable."

He then said, "City, directions from current position?"

"TWO BLOCKS NORTH, ONE WEST. SECOND DOOR ON YOUR RIGHT. A SPOKEN MENU WILL BE PROVIDED."

Sheena's eyes widened and she let out a small surprised sound.

"That's amazing! I've only ever seen Summon Spirits that intelligent. So she guides you around, huh?"

Roy headed in the direction that the city told him, Merlin keeping him from running into things, "She's a good dog. Just a dog, though...a very well trained dog. I hate being blind, but I do love my good girl." Merlin's tail wagged rapidly at being called good twice.

"Okay!" That was a cheerful way to answer a freaked out challenge, right? Considering the boy that literally bounced into sight couldn't be more than eight or so, well, the enthusiasm was probably forgivable! "Are you new? Are you hungry? I totally know a good place for food and it's even good food not like a gas station or anything though those have some awesome snacks you know and hey did you bring any bugs? I wonder if they speak English, I haven't really talked to non-English bugs before!"

Why yes he could say all that without taking a breath!

Sheena looked at the child, her stern expression faltering a bit as the child reminded her of those in Luin.

"I...am new to...wherever this is."

She made no mention that she had no idea what the hell a gas station was, but she cocked her head.

"Talking bugs?"

"This is a giant city! I'm calling it Flea-opolis right now! Annnnd it's mostly empty which is really weird but hey you're here now and did you bring any bugs? Like in your clothes or on your boots or anything?"

What? He liked bugs. "Oh, right, Hi! I'm The Flea!" since he was in costume and all. "I talk to bugs. Isn't that awesome?!"

An empty town? With strange occurrences and strange people...

Dear Sylph, why did this crap always happen? At least the kid seemed nice. She lowered her tense stance and smiled in his direction.

"Nice to meet you, Flea. I'm Sheena. How long have you talked to bugs?"

"Is that a code name?Does it mean you're shiny? Sheeenaaaaa, or maybe you're an alien princess, yeah, I bet that's it!" Totally, like a ninja princess or something! The city kidnapped interesting people right? Right.

"All my life! It's one of my powers!"

"Ah, well it's sort of a code name. But it's the name everyone knows me by," she said with a smile.

"But I'm no alien. So do you, ah...like talking to bugs?"

"Everyone knows me as The Flea! I have a totally secret Identity! Except from my parents, they know, but I've never slipped, not even once!" It helped he went to a school where costumes and secret identities were awesome! "Though okay I admit I used my secret identity as a disguise once but that was Vegas!" TOTALLY A WEIRD PLACE.

"Awww, aliens are cool!" They were, no denying that! "And yeah, they're awesome! And smarter than a lot of kids I know! And they help me fight badguys!"

What the hell was a Vegas? But the kid seemed excited and Sheena cracked a wider smile.

"Well you seem like a really smart kid. How long have you been here?"

Vegas was the BEST TOWN because they welcomed super heroes and had singing socks! SINGING SOCKS?! HOW COOL WAS THAT?!

"And yeah, I'm totally smart! I get most B's and higher though I kinda got a C in magical theory because it's boring and makes my ears itch you know? Ummm, maybe three days? I think I totally missed my essay due date! Good thing I didn't do it huh?!"

"Three days on your own? You must be very brave," Sheena replied before chuckling at the boy's enthusiasm.

"You know you remind me of my friend Lloyd. He doesn't really like doing school work either, but he's probably no where near as smart as you are."

"Nah, there's other people here though I could totally have done it alone"! Totally! He had bugs to talk to after all! Plus his parents had always found him if he got lost before so it wasn't really like being alone right? More like kidnapped in fact!

"Some homework is cool! A lot of it is boring though. I bet I get better grades than him though!" Totally! How could he not?

Sheena thought back to the test that her and her companions had taken in Palmacosta's Academy.

"Considering out of a test of 400 he got 25, I would tend to believe that you're right."
