I carry my home within me

Who:Khemrys, Any
When: At the start of things
What: A healer stumbles through a portal to find a role such as she has held before.

The cube world she had grown comfortable upon had...faltered. The Elo that had bound her shattered when she stepped upon the paths and she could feel her own world and the Hunt calling her home. The answer, as ever, was to run. There was no bridge back to her temporary sanctuary, but she could flee the bonds of her own world until the feeling stretched and strained and finally snapped, allowing a greater Need to rush in and pluck her from the darkness.

When she woke it was in a simple, molded chair in a hospital built on a larger scale than the one she had worked in previously. The fitful flashing of the Emergency room lights brightened as she watched, flooding the rooms around her with clear, clean light. "Hello Doctor," the voice came over the PA system, simple and clinical.

"Hello?" she offered in kind. "Where is this?"

"The hospital, will you take up a term of service here doctor?"

"...yes, if there is need?"

"Your account will be credited monthly, have a nice day doctor!"

Well, that was certainly...odd? One could probably follow her progress through the hospital by the floors that lit up the moment she came off each set of stairs. This empty hospital had a doctor now, mayhap there would be need in time. For now, well, best she familiarize herself with the layout? Abandoned or no it seemed as if someone or something felt a doctor may be needed...and the longer she kept herself busy the less time she had to mourn the loss of the home she had built.

"Then we should gather anything from these upper floors that you might need so that you do not have to run back and forth," he said. "Point out whatever you need and I will take care of moving it."

"I would like to try something first. I may be able to save some time and the number of treks we shall need to make," he said. It depended on how his powers handled. He could feel them there, which was different from how he felt on Penrose. Approaching one of the cribs he placed his hands on one end and swept them in a way like he was going to crush it between his hands. The crib shrank and vanished.

Loki shook his arms a little, that didn't work quite as well as normal, but still worked. He gestured again and the crib reappeared. "It appears, that my powers are in order."

There was something that felt like it was leeching his abilities a bit, it was a tad more difficult to vanish the crib than he thought it should be. Sure, a large object wasn't easy, but it was doable.

"A self-created dimension created by making minute folds in the fabric of reality," he said. "The universe is truly filled with empty space, instead of leaving it empty, a properly trained mage can utilize this space."

"It's not so much hidden as... hmmm... temporarily out of reality," he said. He was trying to think of better words to use, but he didn't explain any of his tricks often. "The space used is unique to every mage and is infinite. If another mage with similar training were to arrive here, they would not be able to access the things I have stored away."

"I have not known a person capable of teleportation, moving from one location to another without the need to walk or acquire other means of transporation, to stumble upon anything a mage has hidden away. I am capable of teleportation and have never tripped over anyone's hidden things," he said.

"I will be able to bring the cradle back where ever you desire it. It travels with me."

"It tends to be frowned upon by people of morality to place a living being in mage space," he said. "I have yet to find out what happens to a person in such a space, either no one has tried or recorded the experience. However, non-living perishable materials, such as food, comes out just as fresh as it was put in, indicating there may be a status effect for removing the empty space of an object."

"Point out that which you think would be useful on the way, no sense making additional trips," he said.

He placed the objects into the crib before vanishing the crib, now full of things up his sleeve. It would be easier to pull all of that out together than separately.

"Most mages know teleportation, which is the simplest of the space magics. Teleporting another is only slightly more difficult than teleporting oneself," he said. "If a mage chooses to help some being fleeing something else they will either teleport themselves and the other to a safe place or fight whatever aggressor the other was running from."

"That is not to say that the situation you described is not possible, simply not something I have heard need of in the section of the cosmos that I am native to," he finished.

"What do you mean by touch?" he asked. He knew the word often had connotations other than the literal definition, but he was still curious of what she meant.

"It is your magic?" He considered that carefully. Penrose had made him curious to learn of the magic of others.

He had not spent a lot of time learning healing magics. He knew some basic first aid and emergency healing spells, enough to stem blood flow until returning to the healing rooms of Asgard. True healers were a rarity, and to hear that her people could be born with it naturally?

"Your people must be truly powerful," he said.

"Old and powerful do not always match up," he said. "You are powerful because of you instinctive healing magics. In Asgard, even those with a nature favorable to healing must spend years of study before they can even seal a cut."
