I carry my home within me
Who:Khemrys, Any
When: At the start of things
What: A healer stumbles through a portal to find a role such as she has held before.
The cube world she had grown comfortable upon had...faltered. The Elo that had bound her shattered when she stepped upon the paths and she could feel her own world and the Hunt calling her home. The answer, as ever, was to run. There was no bridge back to her temporary sanctuary, but she could flee the bonds of her own world until the feeling stretched and strained and finally snapped, allowing a greater Need to rush in and pluck her from the darkness.
When she woke it was in a simple, molded chair in a hospital built on a larger scale than the one she had worked in previously. The fitful flashing of the Emergency room lights brightened as she watched, flooding the rooms around her with clear, clean light. "Hello Doctor," the voice came over the PA system, simple and clinical.
"Hello?" she offered in kind. "Where is this?"
"The hospital, will you take up a term of service here doctor?"
"...yes, if there is need?"
"Your account will be credited monthly, have a nice day doctor!"
Well, that was certainly...odd? One could probably follow her progress through the hospital by the floors that lit up the moment she came off each set of stairs. This empty hospital had a doctor now, mayhap there would be need in time. For now, well, best she familiarize herself with the layout? Abandoned or no it seemed as if someone or something felt a doctor may be needed...and the longer she kept herself busy the less time she had to mourn the loss of the home she had built.

Loki shook his arms a little, that didn't work quite as well as normal, but still worked. He gestured again and the crib reappeared. "It appears, that my powers are in order."
There was something that felt like it was leeching his abilities a bit, it was a tad more difficult to vanish the crib than he thought it should be. Sure, a large object wasn't easy, but it was doable.

...
...odd.
"Where does it go when you do such?"

"And would you have to be here to bring back the cradle or could you reach forth and touch it no matter where you stood?"
no subject
"I will be able to bring the cradle back where ever you desire it. It travels with me."

Ah, but she was delaying when he was being kind enough to aid her. "Thank you so very much, we will go down to the first floor."

"Point out that which you think would be useful on the way, no sense making additional trips," he said.

"The toys then, and basket of blankets in the closet we passed. Something to set children to should there ever be children in this place. Little else here, most of true use is within easy reach of where I will be setting up." Like the pharmacy, and a lab room to convert into a stillroom for her use!

"Most mages know teleportation, which is the simplest of the space magics. Teleporting another is only slightly more difficult than teleporting oneself," he said. "If a mage chooses to help some being fleeing something else they will either teleport themselves and the other to a safe place or fight whatever aggressor the other was running from."
"That is not to say that the situation you described is not possible, simply not something I have heard need of in the section of the cosmos that I am native to," he finished.

"The Old Blood as they tell in tales tended to be rather unique. Few could study the same way, Power came and was used different for each according to nature. There were the old ancients who could do great and wondrous things, but one would sing, another would paint and the like. They could open gates and walk between worlds, many of which bring new blood to my lands still to this day, but no two alike. I wonder what they would make of your magics, and how many would be able to touch as you do..."

"Your people must be truly powerful," he said.

"I spent many years learning to help and heal without power as well. It is best to know how for times I am exhausted, or powerless, and the like. To train makes sense for any, innate ability or no. What of you? Did you train to learn your folding and the like or did it come whispering in your blood?"
